Marcasite ~ is a gemstone used for powerful meditation. Marcasite was especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries of Edwardian jewelry when it was most commonly cut into tiny stones and set in sterling silver. A resurgence of interest in vintage jewelry brought marcasite to heightened popularity again during the 1990s and on. 

Bloodstone ~ properties include increasing strength and preserving health and youth. Many believe it to be a lucky charm, making it prized by athletes and others who want to grow their strength. Bloodstone’s alternate name "heliotrope" comes from the ancient Greek word that means “to turn the sun.” In ancient times, these March birthstones were believed to turn the sun red if they were placed in water.
